The largest prize pool yet of the DeepStack Championship Series totaled $416,556 and $68,027 belongs to Sean Jazayeri. The 60-year-old Californian made the most of some additional time to play poker and is now in possession of his first DSE trophy.

Jazayeri started Day 2 second in chips and opened the final table fourth out of 10. Good fortune found Jazayeri in key spots as he picked up big hands to eliminated opponents and managed to win the most important flip of the night to close out the title.

The WPT Champions Club member was in Las Vegas for the Tournament of Champions but a failed satellite attempt left him in need of some poker to play. Jazayeri bagged on Day 1A and finished the job three days later with a flight only four hours away.

Among the players overcome by Jazayeri include Venetian regular Bobby Poe, WSOP bracelet winners Joey Weissman and Michael Wang, and former Survivor contestant James Rice.

A DeepStack Championship trophy now accompanies Jazayeri’s WSOP Circuit ring and WPT title. Jazayeri hopes to return to The Venetian before the end of the summer if his work schedule in the IT industry allows.
